The Paris Olympics 2024 was an unforgettable chapter in the journey of BMIS Physical Education Teacher and Malawi athletics coach, Coach Pachisi Nyasulu—fondly known as Coach Pach. As BMIS’s dedicated full-time PE teacher, Coach Pach had the incredible opportunity to witness world-class athletes in action, sharing spaces like the Olympic Village, dining areas, and transportation with some of the biggest sports icons in the world. It was a humbling and inspiring experience.
His athlete, Asimenye Simwaka, displayed remarkable talent and determination, advancing out of the preliminary rounds into Round 1 of the 100m race. She placed second in her heat to qualify but faced tough competition against Sha’Carri Richardson in the next round, ending her Olympic journey there.
Coach Pach was equally captivated by Paris’s beauty and the awe-inspiring atmosphere of the athletics stadium—a true haven for a track coach. This once-in-a-lifetime experience has reignited his passion and determination. With his sights firmly set on the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, Coach Pach is ready to take on the challenge, believing wholeheartedly that this dream is within reach. #Paris2024 #BMISPride #OlympicDreams
