Parent Teacher Association

Purpose and Goals

The Parent Teacher Association of BMIS exists to encourage a spirit of cooperation, communication and community among parents, students, and teachers.  The PTA sponsors a variety of events throughout the school year with the following goals:

  • Provide fun activities that allow the school community to connect with one another.
  • Raise funds that can be used for the improvement of school facilities or for purchasing equipment.
  • Promote a strong school spirit by showing support for BMIS students and teachers at sporting events, concerts, student exhibitions, or any other school event.

Organization

The BMIS PTA consists of :

  • Ten or more parent members with at least one parent with child(ren) in Primary and one parent with child(ren) in secondary.
  • Two or more teacher members with at least one from primary and one from secondary.
  • The Director and Primary and Secondary Head Teachers are ex-officio members of the PTA.
  • There are four officers chosen by the PTA Committee: Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer.

The BMIS Community is welcome

All Parents and Teachers are welcome to contribute to the PTA and join any meetings throughout the year. We are always looking for new members and fresh ideas. We also need people to volunteer their time to serve for various PTA functions.
