Aims of the Trust

The school’s Articles of Association were established when the school split from the former Designated Schools Board in 1998 and when BMIS registered as a Trust.  The stated objectives of the Trust are covered under Article 3. The objectives of the Trust shall be:

  • To prepare the students of the School to become responsible, self-reliant, contributing, and productive citizens of the ever-changing world.
  • To provide education of an accredited international standard to all communities which is rigorously taught through a broad curriculum to realize the full potential of every student from pre-school to the end of the secondary level;
  • To foster a fundamental awareness of, and respect for, the rights and freedoms of every individual in the School’s community and the wider world;
  • To achieve success for the School based on a partnership between the students, management and staff, and the Board of Trustees.

It is these key objectives that have determined the school’s curriculum development and in particular embracing the International Baccalaureate programmes which share the same values.  Furthermore, it is the aim of the Trust to provide accredited standards, which in turn has led to our ongoing efforts to maintain good standing of being fully accredited with both the Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
